UNIVERSITY DIRECTORY FAQ
Q: My directory information is wrong. How do I get it corrected?
A: If you are a student and your student information is incorrect, it can be changed in the Student Information System (SIS).
If you are a faculty or staff member, you can update your information using the Human Capital Management (HCM) System. To update your phone number, go to “Main Menu” → “Self Service” → “Personal Information” → “Personal Details”. From the left side menu, choose “Contact Details”. Pick the phone number with type “Business”, or if there is no “Business” number, use the “+” button to add a new one. Then save your changes. To update your campus address, go to “Main Menu” → “Self Service” → “Personal Information” → “CASE Directory Address”. Update your office address information and save your changes. The change will appear in the directory the following day after 8:00 AM.
If you are an affiliate, there is currently no mechanism to update or add your office address and office phone number.
Q: I need to send campus mail to a person. Can we have a location code for every person's entry in the online directory?
A: Location codes and office address are available by selecting the More Info link (you will be prompted to enter your CWRU Network ID and password).
Q: Where does the online directory get its information?
A: The online directory retrieves information about faculty and staff from HCM, which is maintained by Human Resources. Faculty and staff can update their office addresses in HCM. Student information is retrieved from the SIS, which is maintained by the University Registrar. Students can update their contact information in the SIS.
Q: What kind of information will the directory search engine return?
A:In the public directory (accessible to anyone), the search will return first name, last name, CWRU email address, department (for employees) or college and major codes (for students), and phone number. Click on the More Info link (you will be prompted to enter your CWRU Network ID and password) to retrieve more detailed information such as titles and office location.
Q: Why do some people's listings have such little information?
A: Some faculty and staff members are affiliates of the university. Some of these people do not have office addresses and/or phone numbers in our system.
Q: Why are some students missing from the directory?
A: Many students choose to voluntarily suppress information. In such cases, the student is not listed in the directory.
Q: Why is the CWRU Network ID no longer publicly visible in the online directory?
A: For network security reasons, CWRU Network IDs are only visible to authenticated users.
